The ultimate hypocricy

Posted by Aionios on 2009-08-16 13:28:37, Sunday

Someone over the net wanted to add me as a friend yesterday as he lives rather close to me but I discovered that he was a Christian set against homosexuality. Now I don't think a big discussion is needed as I guess that pretty much everyone on this site has thought about this issue to some degree. My opinion is that Paul had no authority to condemn it in the first place. It's not as if he had his vision and then right at the end God told him, "Oh, and by the way: don't forget to rub in that thing about homosexuality".

However, for the Christians that do stick by Paul's teachings through faith, I have noticed that they have an insanely devestating hypocricy to handle. Let's say they have a wife, whom they love very much. Now they could rant on for ages and ages about how they got together, how much they mean to each other and how they believe that God has brought them together. They honestly believe it is sacred, as one would if they were truly in love.

Now imagine a gay couple who are just as happy together, just as in love. The straight couple think that they have the right to condemn them even though both marriages are just as special. In so doing, they actually DENY their own marriage! Because if they think it is possible to seperate the love between a man and another man, the must too be prepared to suspend their own marriage, otherwise they are hypocrites! And if they refuse to accept this, they are being ignorant.

I would say the same about man/boy relationships, but unfortunately even less of the population understand it.

I hope you understand me, because if this is a valid argument in defence of Christian homosexuality then it doesn't half s*** on every anti in existence, don't you think?
