I'll take your word for it that you aren't trying to flame us, but you have a lot of misconceptions. There is a HUGE difference between being sexually attracted to and lusting after. I challenge you to find anywhere in the Bible that condemns sexual attraction of any kind. However, there are quite a few Bible verses that condemn any kind of lust. God does not rate sin. He is as displeased with a man's lust after women as he is with a pedophile's lust after boys. Most on this board strive NOT to lust after boys, just like most Christian men strive not to lust after women. But we are no more able to stop being sexually attracted to boys than you would be able to stop being sexually attracted to women. Neither is sin. Neither offends anyone. But lusting of any kind IS a sin. I've heard it preached this way. None of us are perfect and lustful thoughts will come. This is inevitable and beyond our control. However, just because a lustful thought comes into our heads doesn't mean we have to ask it to sit down for tea and cookies and chat awhile. (In other words, dwell on it) This is when it's sin. I've also heard it put this way. You can't keep birds from flying over your head, but you can keep them from making a nest in your hair.

How are you serving the Lord by allowing yourself to be sexually attracted to children?

Allowing? ALLOWING?!?!?! Are you allowing yourself to be sexually attracted to women? You make it sound like we just woke up one morning and decided we wanted to be sexually attracted to kids. SHEESH. Most of us have earnestly prayed many times for this attraction to be taken away. But I've found God rarely works that way. He generally helps us to learn to live with our attractions rather than just take them away. To be quite frank with you, I've lived with the attration for quite a while, and I've come to the belief that our being sexually attracted to boys is not that big a deal in God's eyes. Now before you start quoting the "millstone" verses, remember I am refering to the attraction, not any sinful actions. I've often wondered why so many Christians put such a higher importance on sexual matters than they do anything else. It's like people think that things like greed, anger, coveting, hatefulness, selfishness, dishonesty, and such are way down at some low level, BUT ANYTHING SEXUAL IS WAY UP HERE ON THIS LOFTY LEVEL. For pete's sake, it's just something God set up to propegate the species. But I digress. The point I'm trying to make is that our sexual attraction to boys is just a small part of who we are as Christians and as Human Beings. It may seem like we focus on it a lot here, but that is because dealing with it is why we come here and what this board is for. If you saw a bunch of posts about cooking on a cullinary arts board, you wouldn't think they were obsessing over that would you?
