how are you connecting these two things? what do you mean?
...just a little history lesson a student of biblical history shared with me, once. Y'know that parable of the "good samaritan?" Doesn't carry much weight, now, does it? Here's a question, though - why would the man Jesus asked not even speak the word 'samaritan?' Samaria was comprised of people who did the unthinkable... they interbred with a very, very hated invader. Not only did breeding with outsiders tweak off a few Jewish taboos, but politically speaking, a time of constant occupation offset by periodic armed revolution is a very, very, very bad time to be descended from interbreeding with invading outsiders. Very bad. I observe again... the man wouldn't even speak the word. In more semimodern terms, Jesus might have given the parable of the child-raping homosexual nigger with a penchant for white chicks lending a helping hand in a day care. Now... was a samaritan born? Yup. Was a samaritan "vile" and hated and "against God?" Yup. Heck, those minor Jewish taboos were even written down somewheres. How much did Jesus care about all this taboo? Enough to tell the whole world to stuff off at immense risk to His life, and that's about it. So... you ask how the parable of the samaritan applies? I think there's a paralell or two somewhere... and you asked of an example of "loathed 'evil'" born, no? Well, there's one. WWJD? |
