I am really confused about this faith. I've been studying it for seven months and I still can't get my head around it.
First of all Christendom = epic fail, as with most fast food theology. Looking behind the veil of symbols (ie. not being a complete retard) the messages are clear to me. The message of Christianity is love, plain and simple. The morality behind the accusation of sin and praise are clearly designed for society's own good and disregarding the specifics should be ideal for pretty much every nation. However the other message (the one of our supposed afterlife) is what has confused me the most. I don't buy into everlasting torment, but the focus of every single parable concerning this is definitely annihilation. It goes like this: the righteous inherit God's glory whilst the wicked are destroyed, for being wicked. Now, Satan obviously has to be destroyed, as he is the veil of illusion that prevents the ego from feeling empathy and keeps it from ignorance. But I feel that it is extremely cruel of God to punish his children forever simply because they were not strong enough to resist the effects of Satan. It is a SATANIC desire to want to see your enemy die or suffer, so it baffles me as to why God is being dragged down to our level. The concept of an afterlife makes it out as if this whole world is just some evacuation process rather than a work in progress. It's very sad, really. I was shocked to find that this stuff had come out of Jesus' mouth. Can anyone shed some light onto this? |
