Actually, I would have thought it was plain and simple. Care about your fellow human and don't piss them off. Don't live in sin (which is not to live in ignorance of the whole, not to harm yourself, not to harm others).

I've had all of these instincts all my life even when I was an atheist. I do not understand why we 'need' God for love. Shouldn't we love each other anyway? Or do some people just need to be scared into loving people because they're complete wankers?
