If you are indeed free to choose to walk away from your fantaises or desires... then why don't you?

I believe we are not free in that regard.

I beleive we have choice... but we ALWAYS choose the path of sin. We do this willingly and we do it voluntarily and we do it hungrily.

This is WHY we need a savior!

God comes to us in His grace and mercy and love and 'takes out the heart of stone and gives you a heart of flesh and puts a new Spirit within us and MAKES us walk in His ways' (Ezek 36:25-27).

Apart from the work of the Holy Spirit we are "slaves to sin" (Rom 6)... that is hardly free in my opinion.
