I knew my YF from the lovely age of eight years old till he was 18 years old and I never, ever stopped feeling the very same, very special love for him. Of course after a while I wasn't as sexually attracted to him, but that never really mattered anyway because we never did anything sexual with one another. But our relationship did change in how we acted towards one another. When he was younger he LOVED to cuddle with me and we even slept together once in a while (without having sex, of course). But when he got older, all of that stuff kind of got to be less and less over time. But we were still best of friends and he always felt comfortable enough around me to confide in me about whatever he wanted to talk about with an adult. Once in a while he would still give me a nice hug and stuff.

If your relationship with your YF was like ours, and it sounds like it was, then I think you should be pleasently surprised at how things will go with him. Sure, things will probably be a little different, but the love will still be there and it will be just as great as it once was. Just different in the way it is shown, probably. That's natural and not to be feared at all. Let us know how it goes.
