Yes, once in a while I DO like to curl up with a good book! No, actually I love to read and always have a good book going. I have been reading this novel by author Cormac McCarthy called "The Road" and I have just found out that it is currently being made into a movie (YAY!!!!) which should be released sometime this year. Oh what good news because this is such a good book so far. It's one of those books that will keep you up all night long if your not careful; it's a definate page turner. It is the story of how a man and his son (the boy is about ten years old) survive in a post-apocalyptic world where most, if not all, wildlife is extinct and starvation is prevalent and all-encompassing and marauding bands of cannibals roam around just looking for thier next meal. I am more than halfway through this book and I love it. The love the father has for his son as he tries so desperately to keep them both alive is remarkable and very touching.
Like I said, this is also being made into a movie and will star none other than Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn in The Lord of The Rings) as the man and Kodi Smit-McPhee as the boy. I think this should be a good one. So has anyone esle read this book and if so, what do you think? Chris ![]() |
