I haven't read the book, but have been looking forward to the movie for a while. I read, though, that there were some problems, which resulted in the release being delayed. I think it was originally supposed to have come out last Christmas.

Speaking of delayed movies I'm looking forward to: "Where The Wild Things Are". Also with a central boy character, and also delayed due to various unspecified problems. [I think they had to do some re-shoots...]
