I think a lot of BLs mistakenly assume that helping boys is a calling for every BL. I do not believe that is the case. Helping boys is definitely the calling for many BLs, but not all of them. There are quite a few BLs who would not be any good with kids and whom I wouldn't even trust around them.
I do believe that many of us have a special gift for working with children and it is an essential tool in helping us fulfill the purpose for which God created us. But, not every BL is called to that type of ministry. I encourage each BL to individually seek out and discover his purpose. Having said that, I think it's also important not to take the other extreme, which you seem to be doing, and believe that no BL is called to work with children. Many BLs are the perfect candidates for working with young people and it should be no surprise that a great number of them have that calling. As for your comparison to heterosexuals, it's a rather unfair one. When have you met a heterosexual man who can relate with and understand women? When have you met one who truly cares about their emotional state and can relate to where they are and what they are going through? Heterosexual men, above all, complain about how little they understand women and the way they think. Women tend to be empathic and emotional, whereas men are more logical and practical. There is a vast difference between heterosexuals and boylovers when it comes to their ability to relate with their object of attraction. Boylovers have been boys before and are ablet ounderstand them, heterosexuals have never been women and are not able to understand them. It is easy to see how BLs are wired for the job of helping children. It is almost inconceivable that a man might be wired to help women. |
