This is a great discussion. As always, Cat has opened up something we can really get into.

I agree with what you said about how not all BL's are well suited to helping boys. I myself fit that catagory, I think. I have had one "official" YF in my life, but that was something I wasn't really looking for and at first didn't even want. It did work out and we became the best of friends...he badly needed a friend like me in his life at that time. But since then I haven't even tried to attempt another relationship like that because my personality isn't suited for it very well. I have left the whole thing up to God, actually. If He wants me to have a YF, I know He will provide.

But there are other ways we can help boys. I myself have been sponsering a boy in India for 3 years now. That is a real wonderful blessing to get letters from him and "watch" him grow into a healthy, beautiful Christian young man. Knowing that I have been a big part of that is great. It believe God has allowed us to be BL's for a good purpose. It is up to us what we will do with it. I can go either bad or good, but if we choose to use it for good, it can be very good.
