Christian BoyLove Forum #50901
Well, I can't tell you why you should read this kind of thing, but I can tell you why I do.
Part of it is for something easily mistaken for justification, but is sharply different: validation. And I don't mean validation of the act of having sex with a boy, but rather the validation that we are not crazy, not sick, not evil. We simply are, for better or worse. In this manner it is a part of the support network we all value to one degree or another here and elsewhere. It helps us to not hate ourselves, which in turn helps us to better control our lust and use our ability to love (philia and agape, not eros) instead. The other, and at least equal in strength, reason that I read such research and what-have-you is the quest for truth and understanding in my own life. If I understand better the way things truly are, and I affect those around me differently because of that, then I can be a positive influence in Humanity's collective (and impossible) quest to know the Mind of God. Am I or this research right: have we touched Truth here? Maybe, maybe not, but we are all the better for trying, for seeking Truth at all. This second may sound a bit (ok, a lot) grandiose, but this is what I believe we are meant for, why God made us, at least in part. To seek Him, and to know Him, as a bride's spirit seeks to know her Husband's Spirit. I hope this made some sense to you Chris. Ask me more, I'm willing to help in this too.
