Well, you're right, they typically fail to make any money but not necessarily as movies. But this one in particular also lacks dialogue. I find it hard to imagine how they could translate the feelings described in the book to film. Without dialogue or plot to move the action forward and without the ability to describe feelings like books can...what have you got left?

I will still watch it, but I'm just not as excited about it as I was before reading the book.
