Thanks for your posts, I have to stress two points that you don't misunderstand me:
1) I believe there is no evidence for any sexual BL relationship, I am not going to fight for that. Just spoke about relationships in general, not about sex. In my point of view a BL rel. must always be non-sexual from the biblical point of view. 2) I neither was doing research to feel "more ok" with BL, nor to promote BL to be biblical. I was just happy that we *might* see some of these relations in the Bible, I agree some are very streched or with very little evidence. Perhaps it's true that only the Jonathan-David & Jesus-John examples fit (btw, when comparing some OT dates you see that Jonathan was at least 10 or 14 years older than David, but I agree that it is more interesting to pick that quality of love than the difference in age). I repeat what Cat wrote: ...[to be] capable of a deep passionate non-sexual same gender love. For me this gives so much substance to the love side of our orientation. Well said! ~ Little Tree ~ |
