I'm really pleased that you've found a solution on the porn issue - and I find it amazing that you have got the help of an old teacher; I'd find the idea of asking for help on this issue at all really hard, and that it's been sorted by someone like a teacher is... brilliant. I think it shows that you are more capable of real relationships than you give yourself credit for - so perhaps you should see that as an encouragement to get on with finding real fellowship in a church.

By contrast I can't endorse the views of this ex-gay group; the experience of the organisations that I have confidence in is that some do change - but OTHERS DON'T. The simplistic assumption that you can just 'stand up and walk away from homosexuality' is to me bad theology - on a level with the claim that anyone in a wheelchair should be able to 'stand up and walk away'. I'd be interested to see the site - could you give us a link to it?

Meanwhile my curiosity is alive and kicking about how things have gone with your persistent guest... unless I've missed a post somewhere, I don't think you've told us how things panned out.
