I couldn't agree with your post more but I guess I am getting used to this anglo-saxon obsession with pedophilia and anything which smacks of a break with the 'monster' image is welcome so, yes, I say well done too. My feeling is that he won't be a deacon long. Someone will organise a petition or leak information or make accusation or something like that to spoil this appointment - or perhaps that is just me being pessimistic. Can you imagine how terrified he would be if he suddenly found he was alone in a room with a child? The world is going slightly mad actually.
