There is this idea that sex offenders will likely reoffend. The claim is made that the statistics show that this is the case.

Then all this effort is made to keep the sex offender away from children... as though that were even possible! Children are everywhere... I've seen them!

The very fact that the guy is identified as a "sex offender" is troubling.

Even this very gracious pastor says, "a guy with Mark's background"... which is respectful but still very cautious.

The idea that if he signs some agreement to keep away from children is going to do anything is ridiculous.

And the deacon's concern that he wasn't straight forward in coming out... HELLO! In the face of the persecution, not coming out could just be self-protection and not opertunisticly stalking future victims.

This guy wasn't even convicted of the sex offences... but some...unnamed (possibly less sensational)... lesser charge.

I don't think too much can be gleened from such a brief article as this... but overall I think... well done church!
