I've been reading a lot of Dostoyevsky recently. It makes me realise how jaundiced and distorted the twenty-first century view of 'boylove' has become: especially amongst the Anglo-Saxons; the continental view still seems much more open than ours though that too may be changing gradually: it's difficult to tell from outside.
