I can't agree

I will agree with you that Jesus never mentioned homosexuality (or if he did, it wasn't recorded), but the Bible as a whole sets a pattern, showing that we men are designed to be joined only with women, in marriage if at all. There is no single verse that sums it all up but you can see the plan for us in Genesis 2:24 and echoed by Jesus in Matthew 19. Romans 1:26-27, no matter how you may interpret it, shows that man's natural relations are with women.

The main point I have always returned to in my own struggles - I identified as a gay teenager until I noticed that my AOA wasn't increasing with my own age - is that our design and our desires are two very different things. An alcoholic may be an alcoholic for God's divine purpose, but that doesn't give him the right to get drunk and so on. Even if we (the CBLs of CBLF) were destined to be attracted to boys, that doesn't give us the right to act in a way that disobeys the way we were designed by our creator. These desires are a part of our old, sinful nature, which was crucified with Christ - it still affects us in this life, and arguably still for God's purpose, but we mustn't allow it to lead us (Romans 6).

About Paul, he was at one time a zealous Pharisee, but after his salvation he abandoned all hope in the Law. His letters (e.g. Philippians 3 and Galations 2-3) are some of the strongest arguments for the abandonment of legalism I can think of, so I don't think it makes sense to say that he only wrote about homosexuality out of an attachment to the law.

Finally, remember that regardless of whether or not it applies directly to you (Leviticus), or whether or not you agree with it (Paul), All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

In Christ,
Gabe
