"Perfect love casts out fear." Despite your uncertainty about the holy spirit (which is very polite of you, not to presume upon him) wouldn't you say you've been becoming more friendly with perfect love lately?

May the Son lead you away from fear. Have a look at the boy in Luke 2: 41-52 , in the story where the 12 year old Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem after his family had headed for home. This is the fearless kid who will take your hand if ever you need him. (In eternity Jesus is not limited to being his final mortal age, needless to say.)
