I would not call a person who goes out and see's the new Star Trek movie a nerd. Nor would I say he had a nerd moment. But that's because I LOVE Star Trek. I have since I was a boy. And I haven't seen the new movie yet, so now I'm even more excited to see it. I cannot wait to see James Kirk as a boy and do we get to see Spock as a young boy as well? I certainly hope so. I'm sure vulcans are really cute when they are young.

I've always kind of thought of the Romulans as being like the ancient Romans, so I'm not sure what the inspiration was for the Vulcans. Perhaps the Greeks, like you said. Anyway, now I am REALLY excited to see the movie.
