I am heartily in favor of personal freedom and the government staying out of our lives to a point. Your child is not your property and you don't have the right to raise them any way you choose. I don't believe you would be in favor of the authorities doing nothing if a kid's parents were abusing them. It's just your opinion that letting kids become sexual with adults isn't abuse. You're in the minority in that belief. There are some people who feel it's not abuse to beat their kids till they're black and blue. They look at it as simple discipline and something the child needs. However most people don't believe that way, so there are laws against beating your kids to the point of abuse. So who decides? The majority. Otherwise it'a a free for all where anything goes. I don't want to live in that kind of world.

People should have the freedom to choose as long as it doesn't affect anyone but themselves. If their kid's welfare is involved, then some regulation is neccesary. And a kid are not capable of making some choices themselves. That's what parents are for. And if the parents make wrong choices for the child, then that's what law enforcement and child protective services is for. The age that a kid is capable of making sexual choices is different for each kid. But there has to be some age chosen for all.

And I ask again. What possible benefit is there for the child to be sexual with an adult?
