"I believe Christ allows us to live in this time as in the time before we knew Good or Evil. How else can he restore us if this is not what he is restoring us to."
I do not believe that Christ allows us to live in the time before we knew good or evil. Christians, upon coming to know Jesus and getting filled with the Holy Spirit, did not strip off their clothes and move back into the garden in a sinless state. We are still fallen sinners along with everyone else, the only difference is that we, like Adam and Eve were covered by God with an animal skin, are now covered by the blood of Christ. There are many many scriputres that show the Christian's ongoing battle to put off the sinful nature (Collosians 3 for a perfect example). I believe that what Jesus restores us to is unbroken access to God the Father. Ephesians 2:17-19 "And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father." and 1 Peter 2:25 "For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls." Abundant life this side of Jesus' appearing is to walk in fellowship with God and one another. We still sin and fall and fail all the time... that is why we need the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit, fellowship, prayer and the word of God. I accept that I'm a BL... but there is fallenness in that. I beleive that is where God has placed me and that there are some very gifted aspects to this journey, but sin is ever present. The goal as Christians is to put off the corrupt parts of who we are and put on the holy, godly and loving parts given us by the Spirit of God. Blessings and welcome to the board. Cat. ![]() |
