Well I can think of two ways that I might be inclined to deal with that situation were I in it.
I would either avoid the kid completely (the least likely option for me - especially if he's around a lot). Or I would go and try and build some relationship with the parents. I figure if they get to know me they will be less intimidated by me and more inclined to see me as a person than a potential predator. In doing so I would make sure that my focus was strongly on the parents not on the boy, so they didn't feel my motives were to get in with their son. One thing I know is that division is from the enemy and that unity and reconciliation is from the Spirit of God.
