We don't do the work (Our works are like filthy rags) the Holy Spirit does the work through us and the fruits we produce are his harvest, they belong to Him.

I disagree. I believe the holy spirit makes certain works possible. But without being willing and without actually getting up and doing it, the holy spirit will not do it for you. God doesn't seem to be interested in having little robots that do his bidding. Sure, the holy spirit might make it possible, but it is still up to you to do it.

And I do not think we will be pointing anything out to the Lord, He is the one who will point out to us, this or that and he will be the one who says well done good and faithful servant, we will not be saying look what I did for you Lord.

Romans 14:12 says we will all have to give an account of ourselves to God.

Like the parable of the talents illustrates, the master doesn't come home and immediately cast out the wicked servants. He comes home and demands an account of what was done with the treasures he entrusted each servant with. Each servant gives an account of what they did with their talents before their master passes down judgement.

And What about the man the thief that hung next to Jesus and said I believe and our Lord said today you will enter into my kingdom. Now surly the lord didn't create him to be a thief and he did not tell him sorry but you did no work for me Your life was a waist.

We know nothing else about him. But let us assume that he was a career criminal and never did anything for the kingdom. Yes, his life would have been a waste. It would've been a waste had his conversion not been written down for generations of Christians afterwards to read about it and realize there is always hope, there is always forgiveness. Would it surprise you if his purpose in life was to serve as an illustration in our bibles?

To clarify, I am not claiming that if you do no work for the kingdom then you cannot enter heaven (or the restored Earth, depending on your beliefs). What I am claiming is that God put you on Earth for a reason; he has a purpose (actually, several of them) for your life that he wants you to fulfill. The whole point of your existence, the very reason you were created was to fulfill those purposes. Thus, if you failed to fulfill your purpose because you were too lazy and decided that just being saved is enough, then you have failed to accomplish what you were put on Earth to do, you are a failure; you failed at life.

Whether the punishment for failure is damnation, having the least amount of rewards in heaven, spending a longer amount of time in purgatory, the shame of having God frown at your poor performance, nothing at all, or whatever it may be, is a question for the theologians to debate. It's beside the point. Regardless of what, if any, the punishment for failing at life is, failure is still undesirable. We shouldn't be motivated by fear, but by love; therefore the consequences, if any are irrelevant; you should still be striving to succeed and accomplish the job God put you on Earth to do.
