Not so long ago I went and saw the musical Billy Elliot.

OH MY GOSH!

I can't begin to say how absolutely awesome and fun it was!

I have to tell about this one amazing part: SPOILER BELOW














If you've seen the movie, it ends with Billy's dad and brother going to see a now adult Billy dancing in Swan Lake. Its a brilliant moment in the film and very uplifting. But this could never work on stage... who wants to see the gorgeous and talented boy you've just been enjoying for the last two hours suddenly replaced by a man for the last few minutes! No thank you!

Fortunately the producers realised this and came up with a brilliant alternative.

In the middle of the show they step out of the story for a scene in which Billy comes on stage in his ballet tights and begins to dance (to the swan lake music) with a chair, then in the back ground there is a man dressed in the exact costume doing the exact dance in a kind of mirror effect. But the best is yet to come. Billy then goes and dances with the man. Gentlemen its a boylovers dream dance... you just couldn't believe it. Seeing a man and a boy dancing intimately on stage took my breath away. But it got even better cause they had Billy on wires and the man lifts him and begins to spin him in the air and Billy begins to fly around the stage like Peter Pan. I can't tell you how much I just LOVED it.

If you get a chance to go see it.... well DO IT.
