If you need confirmation from other people about what God is asking you to do, then perhaps you need to work on your relationship with God before you attempt to take a ministry position.

Actually, confirmation from others a measure of whether a call is genuine. It is not a definitive measure, but if Godly people are unanimously telling you that you are mistaken in your perception that God called you to do X, then you should listen and go back and pray about it some more.

While you may be right and all of those other Godly people may be wrong, the odds say they are right.
