A Servants Attitude

A Devotional based on a prayer

Prayer of ST. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury; pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy;

O Devine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be
Consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

As we live in a world where many people have lives that are filled with the worlds fake ideas of what true love and fulfillment is. As Christians we have the opportunity to show the true way by our attitudes and actions. What are we trying to get out of this would? Or what are we trying to give what has been given to us through Jesus Christ our Lord to this world.

I think that this prayer is a great example of how we as Christians should be living our lives with a servant attitude. For the people in this world that are living in bondage. How we can and should be working for our Lord to bring peace into their lives. And help to guide them to the real truth of the Father Son and Holy Spirit.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help us to live out this prayer in our daily lives giving us the strength that we need to fulfill the purpose that you have put us here for. Thank you Lord that we belong to you and all you have given to us to use for your Honor and Glory. And that many will come to know your Son Jesus as a result of your Holy Spirit working through us. IN JESUS NAME AMEN
