Discerning the conviction of the Holy Spirit VS Satan’s accusations & lies.

Galatians 5:1
1It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

1 John 4:1

1 Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.

John 14:16-18
16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate,[a] who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.[b] 18 No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.


As Christians we have been given freedom in Christ and we have been given the Holy Spirit to help us live according to the way the Lord intended us to live. But we have an adversary that wants to destroy our witness and keep us from living a victorious live over sin. Whenever the Holy Spirit is working in our lives or dealing in an area of our life that needs work Satan is right there trying to bring us down. I want to point out how when the Holy Spirit is doing His work in us what Satan tries to do to make us ineffective in our Christian walk.


A. The Holly spirit gives a sense of holiness.
Satan gives us a sense of worthlessness.
B. The Holly Spirit gives a sense of God-consciousness (through the Word).
Satan gives a sense of self-consciousness (feelings).
C. The Holly Spirit deals with one thing at a time (quiet and gentle).
Satan “throws the whole book!” Clamoring.
D. The Holly Spirit is specific – clarity.
Satan deals in confusion – generalities.
E. The Holly Spirit “corrects.”
Satan Accuses.
F. The Holly Spirit “convicts.”
Satan condemns.
G. The Holly Spirit deals with unconfessed sin.
Satan deals with confessed sin.
H. The Holly Spirit encourages to obedience.
Satan discourages to despair.
J. The Holly Spirit gives peace with a sense of “confirmation.”
Satan gives pressure and “frustration.”
K. These from the Holly Spirit lead to a life of “balance.”
These from Satan lead to a life of “bondage.”
L. The Holly Spirit speaks in sincerity.
Satan deals in “subtlety.”

Satan does not like it when the Holly Spirit is working in our lives and when we are trying our best to live for Jesus. These are just some of the things Satan does, I am sure there are many more. I hope we will recognize and not accept his deception and attacks. So we will stand on the power the love and guidance of the Holly Spirit. I really think knowing the tricks of our enemy helps us to not fall for his deception. I hope this will help someone in there walk with the Lord.


Prayer

Heavenly Father Thank you for giving us Your Holly Spirit to live inside us so that we can have the power and guidance to live have and use the gifts that each one of us have been given of the holly Spirit to use to glorify and honor your Son Jesus Christ. I ask that we would not be deceived by Satan and that you would use us to help others from being deceived as well. Help us to overcome the sin in our lives and to have a closer relationship with you. Lord I ask that you would watch over all of the members here and that their needs will be met physically and spiritually. IN JESUS NAME I PRAY AMEN.
