24"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. 25And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. 26From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. 27God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. 28'For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' Acts 17

I find enormous comfort in this statement.
As a BL one of my constant and greatest frustrations is that I want to spend so much more time with my yf than what opportunity allows. But this opportunity is no random thing. It's not by coincidence that these occasions of time together occur or don't occur. God has determined the time and exact places of my life.
Knowing this leads me not to despair the times I want but don't get.... rather it leads me to be grateful for the opportunities I get with my yf and to ask God's blessing and provision of them.
I try and be content with what He gives me.

Last Sunday a wonderful thing happened. My yf asked if he could come to our house for the afternoon and my wife and his mum actually agreed. This was the first time he's come to my house on his own (ie: without his family). We all sat about our outdoor fireplace and had some lunch and a fantastic afternoon. It was totally awesome to have him and my wife interacting with each other, laughing and joking and just enjoying each other. I was blown away with happiness. I can only thank God for moments such as these and rejoice in what I feel is His blessing on my relationship with both my wife and my yf.

Praise His name.

Prayer
Father help us to take confidence in Your provision of people and relationships in our lives. Help us to be grateful and rejoice in the blessings of time you do give us with our yfs and help us to ever seek you and glorify you in those moments. Help us to be patient when those we love seem far away and loneliness besets us. Please provide us with the relationships we need that we may ever seek You and love You well. In Jesus name, Amen.
