Don't worry so much about WHY: shit happens.

1Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2Jesus answered, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."
Luke 13:15

"He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."
Matthew 5:45

"Why oh why do bad things happen to good people and good things to bad people?" Both of these quotes are from Jesus that is just ONE answer to this, bluntly, shit happens. Natural disasters hurt good people and bad, Christians and others. Christians get hurt by other people plenty, these are the examples Jesus uses with Pilate killed some Galileans and when a tower fell on 18 people. Your faith does not exempt you from bad things no matter how hard you want it to. That was a major theological concept at the time, the more or less faithful someone is determines if bad things happen to them or not. You can see this in how Job's friend's respond to the bad things that happen to him. Most people know this and accept it but sometimes we need to learn the lesson of it, to move past the why and to what next. Job's response was to praise God no matter what happened to him, praise during the highs in life and during the lows.

Jesus sidesteps the question of why and responds with repent or perish. He does not worry about the why but how you should respond. Forget the why, or at least do not dwell on it, and move on with how you will deal with the situation as it is. Many BLs worry worry so much about "Why me? WHY ME?" so much and so often. They dwell on it and dwell on it and get so depressed about being a BL and they spend their days trying to make themselves something else or hurting themselves. Move on, let it go and decide what next, what to do with what you are.

Being a BL is not inherently a bad thing but it does make life harder. It makes finding love harder and makes things more complicated when you do, among other things. Constantly lamenting being a BL will not make life as one easier, what we need to do is figure out how to live the moral Christian life as one; we need to find our path and follow our savior in our own way. The only way that I can see doing this is within a community of believers. We need work this out as a people and community of Christ.

Prayer:

Dear Lord thank you for all that you have done for us, thank you that we can have a community of people to find the right way to be boylovers. Help us to learn to not live in the past and dwell on things we cannot change. Help us to learn to follow your Son Jesus in all we do no matter who we are.
