1 Corinthians 1-8

Love Is the Greatest

1 If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. 3 If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. 4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!

We call ourselves boylovers and the key word is love. If we call ourselves Christians then love should take first place in all we do, in all of our relationships and in the way we act. As boylovers we have the opportunity to be this example for our YFs and teach them the true meaning of love. By the way we live our lives and the way we treat others and the way we treat them. Our little ones that God has entrusted to us watch our every action and are very aware of what we do and how we are living our lives. As boylovers we know the unconditional pure love that a child has as they look to us for our love for them. I truly believe that the greatest gift the Lord has given us is His love for us and the love he has put in our hearts for others. For all of the YFs that we have had and no longer are in touch with I believe that this love will last forever and will always be a blessing in our lives and theirs.

This passage of scripture is a great key or reference guide for us Christians to use and check to see if our motives, thoughts, actions and what we say are truly being done in love. We should use it in all of our relationships to help us love others the way the Lord loves us. And as Christian boylovers it is our God given responsibility to insure that we are especially patient and kind and not be rude or be irritable, keep no record of being wronged and never give up on or lose faith in, always stay hopeful and endure through every circumstance when it comes to loving our YFs. To me boys are the most beautiful of Gods creation in every way from their looks to their spirit and personalities. And I am so thankful for the Lords strength for me to be able to overcome the weakness that I have in order to be blessed by being able to love all the boys the Lord has given me in life the way He loves me.

So on this Valentines a day in which we celebrate love let us look at what true love really is and who has given us this amazing gift. Let us thank our Lord and Savior for all of the different type of relationships He has given for us to express and receive the gift that will last forever LOVE!

Prayer

Heavenly Father I ask that we use this wonderful gift of love that you have given to us to Honor and glorify Your name in all of our relationships. Thank You for all of the YFs that you have put in our lives and the ability to show them a pure and true love which You have put in our hearts. Thank You for Your expression of love for us which is the truest and purest love of all, the Sacrifice of Your Son Jesus on the Cross so that we may receive Your love and forgiveness for all of eternity. In Jesus name I pray AMEM
