Devotional #10 LOVE

Matthew 22:37-39 (New International Version)
37 Jesus replied: " 'Love" the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself

I know how much we all love boys and how big a part of our lives they are to us. This is a great way to help us understand just how important love is and helps us to relate to the greatest Commandment Jesus gave. I know from my own experience that it was hard for me to understand how to love one who could not be touched or seen. But loving boys over the years even the ones I have never known and had just heard about, the love just pored out of my heart for them. I didn’t have to see or touch them to know how real they where. I would pray for them and send them money to help with their physical needs but I knew about their problems and cared enough let them know it in other ways as well I.E. letters. I think sometimes that The Lord gave me such a love for boys to help me understand His love for me and to have the faith to just know He is there and to love Him. For He loved us first and as a result we loved Him in return. (The best way we can with our limited understanding) I don’t know about you but my love grows and matures while our Lords always will remain the same for us. HOW AWSOME!

As this New Year arrives my resolution is going to learn more about love how to love and to let the love of Jesus shine through my life. To live the Greatest Commandment in my daily life, putting the Lord first in all of my thoughts actions and to really love my neighbor as myself. And of course always help a boy in need weather I know him or not.

I hope as the this Year comes to an end, you will all think of a New Years resolution that will make the Lord proud of you and draw you closer in your relationship to Him.

I think of all of you guys as my neighbors (Friends) and love you in Christ, I am so thankful for the opportunity the Lord has given me here.

Father God I ask that you would make this New Year one that is filled with Your love and give each of us the things You know that we need. I ask that You would Bless us with so much love that it would just overflow onto or into everyone around us. Thank You for this last year and please bless us with one more Year to live for and Honor You. IN JESUS NAME AMEN
