"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

We're all sinners, and we need God's grace everyday. But our Heavenly Father did send a permanent once-and-for-all solution to this problem of sin.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

Without Jesus, we would ALL die in our sin. Jesus alone is our way out of sin.

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6).

We are all deserving of Hell and punishment for our sins.

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:8-9).

This is how we become clean and free of our sin... By confessing our sins to God, accepting His forgiveness, and believing in the One (cf. John 3:16) who bought salvation and eternity for us -- Jesus.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

We are all granted eternity through Jesus. There's nothing in ourselves that we can do to gain heaven for ourselves. No works, no purgatory, no special prayers, no amount of money, etc. It was all done through the once-and-for-all ultimate sacrifice of a pure holy sinless Jesus on the cross.

Do we still sin, have terrible thoughts, and continue to do evil? Yes, we all fall into this. We still live in a fallen world. In the meantime, the Lord is patiently (and mercifully) waiting to allow others to know Him as well.

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).

Heaven is not here yet. But it will come when we least expect it. Be found ready.

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God..." (2 Peter 3:10-12a).

Until then, we need to allow the Lord to live through us, making those tough decisions for us, and striving to live godly lives. Yes, we will continue to battle our own flesh and even fail at times.

"For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me... O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord..." (Romans 7:18-21, 24-25a).

So, I will leave you with this following verse, and I encourage you to PLEASE read the rest of this chapter, Romans 8 (see below), to find out how you, through Jesus, can accept His grace and conquer the war that is raging within you.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit" (Romans 8:1).

Follow Jesus. In Him alone is our salvation.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
