I am kind of in charge of a music program here in my town. We open it up to anyone who wants to come and play music. Of course this has attracted more than a few teenagers, plus a few younger kids, especially since we added a large screen TV and a PS3 to show movies and so people can play games if they aren't interested in music. Ok, so I get a knock on my door this morning; one of the younger kids wanted to know if I would open it up so he could play games because he was bored to death. I asked him why he wasn't in school and he said they had some kind of teacher's conference going on, so there was no school. I explained to him that I couldn't open it up because I had stuff to do, but then he just whined about being bored. So I said, "Why don't you read?". He just looked at me like I was crazy or something. I told him I I have tons of books and he could have one for free if he wanted, but he just said he hates reading and left. Good grief, man, when I was that age I always had my nose in a book. I would read two books a week sometimes. What is wrong with kids today? All they want to do is play video games.
