This is proving to be the most difficult recovery I have ever experienced. Maybe because I am older now, I don't know. I have had one bad slip since I made the last post. However, the key is to never quit quiting. To be honest, I don't know exactly why I decided to start up again after such a long time. It was a warm summer day and I was kind of bored and I let my mind wander and started to think about how good it would feel to just tie one on again..."for old times sake". I knew better. In my heart I really knew better but I did it anyway. And that was all it took, that one time. Alcoholism is a combination of a mental obsession and physical craving and once the person takes just one drink he sets off this terrible thing.
