I don't think there is a catch-all answer for that question. Although society as a whole would say an emphatic NO, he shouldn't be trusted, I think in many cases he can be. If the individual has attained a firm grasp on his desires, I see no reason to punish him further by demanding he never interact with boys. Though if he were convicted, that is probably exactly what the courts would demand. But if the individual has any doubts about his ability to resist the temptations, he should refrain from close contact with boys. Even if a bler has supreme confidence in his abilities to refrain, I believe he should still put restrictions on himself to ensure he doesn't get into a situation that is overly tempting.
