When you have someone that you care about, suddenly your own life becomes more valuable. Well, not only care about, but especially when someone depends on you. Not long ago I had friends who I cared about, but they are fine on their own. We had good times, but at the same time, I was an alcoholic. It didn't bother them, and why would it? My personality doesn't change when I drink. But when I started to become more important to a couple of boys who were in my life, meaning they depended on me emotionally, I pretty much quit drinking. I still drink very little. I think one of every man's basic needs is to be needed. That little girl needs you, so you are compelled to be the best you can be for her.
