I do strongly agree with you and I think you have misunderstood what I mean by politics here. I consider it very wrong, for example, when Christians campaign noisily on moral issues (such as abortion, or sunday shopping for example). They are then trying to exert a political power over people who have no faith and for whom such issues mean something quite different. That isn't what I meant.
It is however encumbent upon us as Christians to consider carefully our own position when it comes to 'going along with the status quo'. Not that we should try to force others to agree with us or to do things our way, but merely to do the Right Thing ourselves. I suppose it is merely trying to 'Practise what we Preach' in the way that our Lord teaches us to do.
