If as you say Jesus' story about Abraham illustrates who gets into heaven than what does it say about that?

There is no mention of their faith but it goes into depth about their works. Is the story Jesus tells given a time period?

Exactly that is my point, we do not know. So I take what I do know about God. He is just, loving, and merciful, among other things. So I take that and make the only conclusion I can.

The theology of "Believe Jesus is your Lord and Saviour or go to hell" ie Cake or Death, this phrase is from Eddie Izzard, my favorite comedian. Just like cake or death if the decision was that simple and obvious to believe in Jesus or not everyone would do it but that is not how things are. Essentially Cake or Death is what is preached in many Christian churches.
