The key words here are "can be." How often harm occurs is open to debate. But to say that it's never harmful without societal pressure is an enormous assumption. You can't take the results of a few studies and then claim something is an indisputable fact. Especially since there are a number of well respected professionals in the psychiatric field that claim the opposite. Not to mention that you are discounting as so much rubbish all the boys and former boys that claim harm.
