I think this isuue runs alongside the questions you are asking.

I think parental consent is a huge part of any child's life. Many things may be legal for children to do but parents are seen (and I think rightly so) as having an authority over children to veto what "legal" things they may participate in.

I think if there was any legalization of anything to do with children then parental consent would still take precidence if the child will be allowed to participate in said activity.

I have to think some more about my own oppinion on decriminalizing adult/child sex. Certainly as a parent I wouldn't allow it.... but then I don't allow for my adult childen to engage in adult to adult sex either. It's "marriage only" while I have any authority over them.
