Here's a quote I found, which I hope someone will apply to the review of DUL, which is now in the hands of the publishers:
---------------------------------------- Just browsing, found this nugget of good common-sense in a 1898 book, Therapeutic Suggestion in Psychopathis Sexualis, with especial refernce to contrary sexual instinct. / by Dr. A. von Schrenck-Notzing. (Why does a man who is fascinated with eunuchs have to be called Dr. von Schrenk-Notzing?!?!?!? Sounds like a Rocky-Horror-Picture-Show coining to me!) LET US HOPE FOR A RETURN TO SUCH COMMON SENSE AS THEY HAD BACK IN 1898: "The reckless violation of boys and honorable boy-love are to be strictly distinguished from each other in judging the male relations which existed in ancient Greece." That could have come out of Ned's mouth; let's hope some DUL reviewer can find a way to work it in. So, yeah, obviously the legal discussion should take into account whether it's some scum-bag grabbing a boy at a park, or some distinguished gentleman, well-respected in the community, who is actively involved in passing on culture and just happens to take a sex-break with his prize-pupil, as a special treat after some major accomplishment. Sure! And then we could then look forward to all the pervs putting out shingles on the internet: GREKE LESSENS REEL CHEEP! HERE, CHICKY CHICKY CHICKY!! ---Didaskalos • ( http link ) Dr. Schrenk-Notzing's 1898 book @ google [Anonymouse] |
