So get involved with teen work as a volunteer?

Have you looked at that possibility? Also there's such organisations as Operation Mobilisation and

YOUTH with a mission....

which provide short term Christian mission opportunities

Both have very comprehensive websites. om.org and ywam.org - ywam's Discipleship Training School might well be just the thing for you at the moment:
