One could argue that perhaps an alcoholic were "supposed" to be that way. I'm sure it can be part of God's plan. But that would not mean that that person was "supposed" to give into alcoholism.

Every human has temptations and obsessions to battle. It it through these battles that we grow stronger in spirit.
