It is not useful in that context because I, and others like myself will not be posting about anyone but ourselves. Thus, you and others who felt strongly about this issue or who would for some other reason be willing to go out of their way to tally the results of everyone they know, would be overrepresented.

The population of current active cblf members is small enough that if limited to people who fit in that frame, useful figures can come from the poll. But not if you water it down by including all of these clearly skewed external factors.
