I don't disagree with much of what you say. I do believe it is very clear that God reveals more of himself over time throughout the history of his people. Even Christ himself reveals only as much as his disciples can bare until they are ready to hear more; beginning with "My yoke is easy and my burden is light" and ending with "pick up your cross and follow me".
However, that this somehow leads towards a relationship where we are equals with God and somehow in a position to decide for ourselves what is right and wrong is simply not scriptural. I can think of a few places in the bible where individuals decided that they would be the ones to decide what is right and wrong; the most significant of these decisions occurred in the garden of Eden and led to all the pain and suffering that has ever occurred in the world. When faced with a situation, like Adam and Eve were, where God says something is wrong and you can't understand why. When faced with a situation where you disagree with God on whether something is wrong. Guess whose wrong? |
