Nothing is ever "as simple as that." The ultimate authority for Christians is God. So when He says we shouldn't do something, then we shouldn't do it. But in my many years of often doing what "I" wanted even when I knew God didn't want me to, I have learned something. God is not some kill joy sitting up there is Heaven saying no to things just to spoil our fun. There are REASONS He forbids certain things. Sometimes we can ascertain the reasoning, sometimes we can't. Sometimes we only find out the reasons AFTER we go our own way and suffer for it. That has happened to me in several different areas of my Christian walk when I was younger and more foolish. Many times we never know the reasons. God never promised us reasons and we probably wouldn't understand many of them anyway.
In regards to boy sex, as a general rule, I feel it is harmful for boys (or girls for that matter) to become sexually active too young. I believe it harms their emotional and mental developement. I'm not talking about experimentation or masturbation, but actual sex or sex play with another person, especially if that other person is older. You can argue till the cows come home about whether or not it's only society causing the harm by demonizing it, but harm is harm, regardless of the source. Fortunately, as Christians, we don't have to worry about why something is wrong. We merely have to obey God. Dakota |
