I'm not sure you understood my issue with this theory.

I had never heard of these twin studies and find them intriguing.

Are you suggesting that a diaper fetish, foot fetish, or whatever is more accurately labeled a separate sexual orientation than a fetish? I prefer separating it by gender, pedos, than fetishes ONLY for issue of talking about it. I mean I don't really care about labels. I will be friends with almost any kind of individual and in an ideal world we would not need so many label to separate people. I'd like to someday be able to simply say "I am human and I am sexual"

My main issue with this theory is that it means all people attracted to a certain group of people (BLs, GLs, heteros, etc) have had a similar childhood experience and this does not jive with my personal experince as well as the pervasiveness of different sexual orientations in different cultures where early childhood experiences would be so different.

Fetishes do make sense as a result of early environmental experiences because some fetishes would not even exist in many cultures (the practice of spanking, diapers, etc)
