I agree that if people actually looked at a pedophile as a person, most would be more apt to judge us as individuals and not lump us all as molesters. However, I doubt most people would ever trust us around kids. That is the main sticking point that I don't see ever changing anytime soon. For some reason, people will not accept that the urge to be sexual with kids is not that different than the urge most people feel to be sexual with adults of the opposite sex, and can be controlled just like everyone else controls their desires. This is probably partly due to them being very sensitive about protecting kids, which I can understand even if I don't agree. Most men will never admit the fact that they are attracted to minor girls when the girls become developed. Just look at the hoopla that surrounded the event when Ashley and Mary-Kate reached 18. Millions of men were looking forward to that birthday so that they would no longer feel guilty about lusting after them. If they could admit this, it might be easier for them to understand that pedophiles can resist the desires just like they resist the desire to be sexual with girls.
